My gift of a trailer

I was given a small box trailer, today. It needs a bit of work but the previous owner was good enough to put two new tyres on it. Overall, its not in too bad a condition.. All the metal parts are in good order but the woodwork definately needs replacing. The sides of the box are plywood and this has delaminated beyond repair. So my first job will be to rip all the plywood away and replace with another material.

I have decided to use solid pressure treated pine fencing type wood. It is available in 4 metre lengths by 150mm wide by 19mm thick. This will provide a good strong siding with the advantage of being fairly lightweight. The trailer has angle iron at each corner and base with holes drilled at 100mm distances. I will use these holes to put screws through and secure the planks of wood thoroughly in place.

I will keep you informed of my progress.
